Wiper motor problem prompts Volvo to recall 63,095 trucks

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling 63,095 trucks in the United States and Canada because gearing in the windscreen wiper motor can prematurely wear out and cause the wipers to malfunction. This could reduce visibility in inclement weather.

The recall affects VNR, VNL, VHD, and VAH models from 2022 to 2024.

The recalled vehicles were manufactured between 3 May 2021 and 5 July 2023. There are 55,012 recalled trucks in the United States and 8,083 in Canada.

Dealers will replace the motor assembly for the windscreen wipers at no cost. On the 15th of September, 2023, owner notification letters are expected to be mailed. Contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586 if you are an owner. The recall number for Volvo Trucks is RVXX2309.

Notification of dealers is underway. Owner notification letters will be mailed no later than September 15. The number of the NHTSA recall is 23V-511.
