For its e-house move in Burlington, Ontario, Precision Specialized won the 2023 Hauling Job of the Year Award in Trucking from the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association.

The prize was given out at the annual conference of SC&RA, an international organization with more than 1,350 members from 46 different countries, in Carlsbad, California.

Members who successfully navigate the hauling industry's professional challenges are recognized with this award. Judges take into account shipping planning, execution, physical components, and safety factors. The GTI Group company Precision Specialized, situated in Burford, Ontario, took first place in the transportation under 160,000 lb net category.

The loaded dimensions were 109'x21'6"x23'7", weighing 247,000 lb, while the e-house measurements were 72'x21'6"x20', or 140,000 lb. With 81 support trucks, it could only be transported at night and required two nights to traverse 50 kilometers or 31 miles.

Planning the transfer took 3,519 man hours, and Precision Specialized had no recordable violations or infractions.

"It was one of the weirdest places we've ever had to escape with a load this size," the driver said. Why would they build this here was an often asked question. Ed Bernard, the president of Precision Specialized, stated in a press statement. This one presented extremely difficult obstacles, which made the move's successful execution all the more satisfying.
